Your Flattering Colors!

21 Dec

Good Morning! I hope you are all having a relaxing holiday week. I decided last-minute that indeed I would take this week off. Originally I was only intending to take Wednesday, Thursday and Friday  but awoke Monday and changed my mind. It is my prerogative don’t you think? I spent yesterday watching the Andy Hardy marathon I recorded earlier in the week and finishing up my knitted gifts. I’ve almost four down and one to go! I saved the biggest and least urgent for last (the recipient knows he won’t get it on Christmas Day).

Due to this  I thought I’d share some scans from a Singer Sewing Book I picked up earlier this year. It’s full of delightful tips! This scan has to do with flattering colors based on ones hair color. A quick peek in my closet reavealed to me that I naturally gravitate to the colors on these scans for the medium brunette.

Do you think these are accurate and flattering for you? I find that mine are.

Well that’s all for now. I’m off to polish off my third cup of coffee, go for a rollerblade and then settle down for some knitting and Andy Hardy!

I always have difficulty determining my “type”, as I think I fall between zones in most colour charts – I’m a dark blonde or light brunette with greyish blueish greenish eyes. In this case, since according to the “medium blonde” palette I should mainly be wearing purple (and I don’t like purple), I’ll go with medium brunette – pink, red, blues (we’ll ignore the purple in the middle) and teal greens suit my taste.

I have a hard time figuring out my type too. I took out a book at the library about color seasons and I couldn’t tell if I’m an Autumn or a Winter! My hair is colored red but actually med brown and I have fair skin (but tan easily) and green eyes. Oh well, I wear what I like which means lots and lots of green!

I used to try to figure out what I was, now I just buy things that I like and generally find that they’re flattering on me. I have a healthy skin tone and medium/ dark blonde hair, so I love to wear light teal, pastel pink, pastel peach, light yellow. Pretty much anything with light or pastel in front of it.

I agree. The way I “figured” it out was to take a long look at what’s in my closet and determined that I look good in jewel tones. Unfortunately, much as I love pastels, they wash me out (since I have yellow undertones) and make me look even more pale!
