A Pattern and an Apology

6 Jan

Hi all! Just a quick little post to show you what I’m working on now. You’ve seen it before, it was part of my Mother-Daughter “series.” I’m working on view II in a nice 24 wale, chocolate brown corduroy.

I wasn’t planning on making the coordinating shirt, but I’m at a loss to think of what in my current closet could suit this jumper better! Couldn’t you see it in a kelly green broadcloth? It would be a nice 40s color combo. I’m trying to whip this up as quickly as possible as school starts for me on Monday.

I’d like to excuse myself in advance for my scarcity in 2011; you see, one of my New Years resolutions was to go back to school and finish my Master’s degree. I’m a glutton for punishment and signed up for four classes this semester (while working full time, I know!!) but this way, I’ll be done by the end of the Fall 2011 semester. I’d like to get on with what I think of as my “real life” which involves working in my chosen field and possibly finding a city to love and settle down in for good. Incidentally, this life also involves living in a Craftsman bungalow with cedar closets filled to bursting with lovely hand made clothes. A girl can dream right? So that being said, I’d like to make an attempt to post at least once a week and twice or more if I’m feeling adventurous. I’m afraid my workload means that I won’t have much time to make things as I like but I’m willing to do so to meet my goal! Wish me luck!

Oooh! I can’t wait to see the finished outfit you’re whipping up with that pattern–it’s going to be cute! 😀

I know I’ve said this before, but good luck with all your classes! 🙂

Thanks Casey, I think I may need a little luck this semester but as you know, I’m super excited!

Wouldn’t you know, I fit and cut out this pattern and decide to knit all weekend instead?! Oh well, at least I have it ready for little snippets of time when I do feel like sewing!

congrats on the degree! All the hard work will totally be worth it in the end! And I do believe you can have all of that and hand-made wardrobe….just remember, one day at a time!! Super excited for you!

I couldn’t agree more. I had gotten a bit complacent because of the money I’ve been making but I really had to assess that and realized that it’s more important to really love your job than to make lots of money. Right? 🙂

Aww thanks Tobey. Hope I won’t be as scarce as I’ve been in other semesters 🙂
