I’ve been a bit lax in my pretty pattern posts!
Today’s pattern is a recent acquisition. While I don’t know if it necessarily meets the criteria of “pretty.” I thought I would showcase it for its uniqueness. Something I’ve been wanting to make for a while is a pair of 40s era jeans. I wasn’t sure what pattern to use to make my jeans. Many of the vintage ones I found that I thought would do the trick were too, too small in the waist. Behold:
And just look at that waist measurement- 32″ wow! Practically unheard of! I’m excited because I think that would be pretty easy to whittle down for me. Much easier than whittling up from a 24″ waist.
Note the adorable shaped pockets. I’ve not seen a detail like this before and I’m not sure if it’s something I’ll use when I actually do make these up. For now, I’m prowling my local fabric store for a good stiff, dark denim.
Enjoy your Sunday! Today I’ll be finishing the last of my Christmas knitting projects (hip-hip-hooray!!) and can get back to knitting for ME.
I really love that pattern- what a find! Who is it by? I would love to see if I could try and track one down in the same size (dreaming I know, but I can hope) π
It’s an Advance pattern- 4851. Happy hunting! If you can’t find an equivalent evadress.com has a great pants pattern I almost bought before I found this one.
Thanks so much for that π I can’t wait to see them when you finish them. π
So cute! Vintage jeans are high on my to-sew list (still… as you know!), and I really love the pocket detail on these. Great addition to your collection! π

Have you settled on the pattern you’ll use yet? I found a nice one on Evadress.com I ALMOST bought but I hemmed and hawed and then saw this one. We’ll have to do a sew a long!
Thanks SO much for the tip to look at the evadress site. I’ve seen some gorgeous pants on there, and I’ll definitely be picking up the pattern to add to my collection.
But I’ll still keep an eye out for that gorgeous pattern you found- it’s a gem! You lucky girl! π
